About this coffee
This Sumatran specialty coffee from Indonesia has a fruity flavor, roasted medium to dark to perfection in Los Angeles, and then safely packaged in a Biotre 12 oz compostable pouch. Nothing can beat the melon, pineapple, mossy, tobacco, and good body flavor of this coffee.
Curated and carefully selected by the importer, Tano Batak is a screen 16+ super-premium grade coffee from the Lintong region near South Lake Toba in Sumatra. At 1,400 to 1,550 masl, this region has the highest coffee growing altitudes in Northern Sumatra.
The importer works with six collectors that buy coffee directly from small farmers and in weekly village markets. The collectors wet hull the coffee at 28-32% moisture and then dry it in green houses. Once around 11-12% moisture, they run the coffee over densametric tables before sending it to the importer in Medan for hand sorting. Given the exceptional quality of these coffees, they are processed each lot separately as microlots.
